Terms

Last updated October 1, 2026

These terms cover your use of CoolerDuty. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. How we handle your information is covered in our privacy policy.

Who can use CoolerDuty

You need to be at least 16, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.

About the beer

CoolerDuty tracks who's bringing drinks. It doesn't sell, supply, or deliver alcohol. You're responsible for following local laws about buying, carrying, and drinking alcohol, including the legal drinking age and any rink rules. Drink responsibly, and never drive after drinking.

Your account

  • Use your real name and an email address you control.
  • Login links go to your email, so keep your email account secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
  • You can delete your account any time from your account settings.

Running a team

If you manage a team, you're responsible for what you add to it. In particular:

  • Only add people who expect to hear from the team, and only with an email address they gave you for it. Adding someone sends them an email.
  • Turn on public game pages or a public roster only if your team is comfortable with that information being visible to anyone, including search engines.
  • Respect a player's request to be removed, hidden from the public roster, or left out of the cooler rotation.

Acceptable use

Don't use CoolerDuty to:

  • Send spam, or add people who haven't agreed to be on your team.
  • Harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone.
  • Post anything illegal, or anything you don't have the right to share.
  • Scrape the site, probe for vulnerabilities, or interfere with how it runs.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you and your team add, such as rosters, games, and links. You give us permission to store and show it to the people it's meant for, and on public pages when your team turns them on, only so we can run the service.

Maps and other services

CoolerDuty includes Google Maps features and content, used for rink search and maps. Use of Google Maps features and content is subject to the then-current versions of the Google Maps End User Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Signing in with Google is also covered by Google's terms.

The service

CoolerDuty is free and provided as is. We'll try to keep it running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that reminders always arrive on time. Double-check game times with your league. We may change features, or stop offering the service, and we'll give reasonable notice before shutting it down.

Suspension

We may suspend or remove accounts or teams that break these terms or put other people at risk.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything that happens at games, including injuries, alcohol, missed games, disagreements between teammates, or anyone who owes the team a case. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived.

Changes

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll let account holders know by email. Using CoolerDuty after a change means you accept the new terms.
